Unilever:

-M. Davis Group acquired the equipment & real estate from Unilever in Baltimore, MD. The facility was founded and produced margarine products from 1917-2015.

-following the closure in 2015, M. Davis Group endeavored to quickly clear the building allowing new business to grow in the area

Results & Recap:  M. Davis Group successfully sold over $2.5mm worth of equipment from the facility during several phases of auctions. Additionally, M. Davis Group negotiated a sale of the real estate to a local business that utilized the recently emptied space to establish an industrial laundry operation. Managing, all aspects of the sale of equipment, removal, and clean out; we were able successfully facilitated the environment necessary to return of business to the area.

Dairy Farmers of America:

-DFA New Wilmington, PA upgraded their facility to a $50mm State of the Art Cheese Producing Floor

-M. Davis Group was responsible for liquidating & removing the existing cheese floor while the new cheese floor was constructed & started up

-Timing & Execution was critical to make things were done in an orderly, safe, & timely manner to meet overall project goals of the corporate engineering team

-This including selling a batch of silos & horizontal tanks during a “Phase I” to remove & have the construction team build a removal ramp for the existing cheese floor removal.

Results & Recap:  Not only did M. Davis Group have a successful auction, M. Davis Group also managed a fluid removal project that involved working during a plant “start up” period from 11pm-6am. The plant successfully started up the new cheese floor & M. Davis Group immediately commence removal of the old cheese floor. This included running a scrap project of the assets that were not sold at auction. M. Davis Group worked with multiple removal teams, salvage teams, electrical & mechanical disconnect contractors to make this project a huge success for our client.

Elmhurst Dairy:

-M. Davis Group assisted Elmhurst Dairy with the liquidation of their facility in Jamaica, Queens in New York

-The Jamaica Queens plant broke ground in 1925 and was the last fluid milk facility in the city limits of New York

-Provided the plants age and significant commercial developments in the surrounding area, removal was uniquely challenging

Results & Recap:  M. Davis Group successfully sold over $2.0 mm of equipment from the facility over the course of a 2-day live auction. The assets included a complete fluid milk operation, delivery truck fleet, & blow molding department. Working with a national crane and rigging company, M. Davis Group completed a complicated rigging and logistics enterprise that included the removal of (10) 40,000 gallon silos via cranes positioned at great distance from the plant. Further, M. Davis Group worked with several logistics companies to manage removal of multiple oversized loads and shipping out of the city limits to buyer’s across the nation. All silos were shipped through busy Manhattan in the middle of the night and over the George Washington Bridge avoiding the oversize load curfew in the city.
